does this count?---------------------I thought Dark Dallas was a really cool serial and then the writer told me that it's a copy of the movie SE7EN. Instaed of the seven deadly sins, he's using hands of poker. It's about a group of businessmen and the one they quicked out of the group is the one that's pissed off so he goes around and kills people and leaves clues that are poker hands cause they all used to play poker together.

that  sucks.  i was looking forward to a cool story and this dude is just copying someone else's story.

What's up with that?

all these guys break their asses writing and then some dude comes along and  steals stories with different props? huh? screw him.

if this posted twice sorry

No, it's terrible that someone would steal another person's ideas but it happens frequently.

Being a writer myself, employed in the field of journalism, I find creative writing an excellent outlet for ideas.  When one is involved with creative writing, especially for pleasure, one would think that with all of the ideas and inspirations that exist, it would be unnecessary to steal someone else's story.

Some individuals desire to reap the rewards and benefits without putting forth the effort. That seems to be an ongoing theme in modern day society and American culture. Then there are those that exist that have the desire but simply do not have the talent. Perhaps the writer, is one of both of these types. ?

Shame on you, Dark Dallas, shame on you.

My name is Mike Heronime.  The story and concept for Dark Dallas is mine.  It is not based on the film Se7en.  It is an original story influenced by a wide range of comic books, pulp fiction, dime novels, and movies with a particular emphasis on film noir stories from the  40s and 50s.  While I've seen Se7en, it hasn't left a huge impression on me from the standpoint of the story that was told or even the way that it was told.  As an art director, my main memory of Se7en is of the way the title and credits are animated.  It's a style that was very innovative at the time and I've seen it ripped off several times since then.  As for Eric Robinson's involvement, he has been writing the script for our comic book and is responsible for fleshing out the story as well as the characters and their dialog.  But the idea of the killer coming for revenge after being hosed in a socially significant high stakes poker game was my idea, not Eric's.  And I take exception to this posting and everything it suggests.  I'm surprised someone would write something so uninformed and irresponsible in a place like this that exists to promote and support comics.  Especially independent comics like Dark Dallas.  Apparently, this person has a vendetta against the Mr. Robinson and has created a MySpace page and a ComicSpace page to help them spread lies.  This kind of behavior is totally unacceptable and I expect this person to retract their posting with an apology.

You may review Dark Dallas online at http://www.pandemoniumcomics.com/dark_dallas/index.html and compare it with the movie Se7en and decide for yourself.  You  will find it does not warrant these slanderous accusations.
