Here are a couple of my poems:
My Mind Welcome to the tumult that is my mind. I hope you like it here. Grab a seat and stay a while.Don't mind the little girl, she'll stop crying in a moment. She'll realize that no one's listening, and fade away. Watch your step, because I haven't cleaned in a while. I'd rather leave things as they are, burned and broken. Be careful not to knock over any statues, like the one with a broken heart. It reminds me of the cruelty and pain of the outside world. On your way out, make sure you lock the door, so no one else can get in. It's better that way, because at least I know nothing can harm me here. A Star
The sun rises, painting the clouds in hues of ruby and gold. A new star is born.
The star twinkles a little, as she yawns and comes to life. She looks at her brother and giggles in delight.
At noon she looks at birds in flight and smiles as they try to reach her, feeling lucky to have so many friends.
Growing tired, the star looks at the ground, wondering if it seems closer. It is.
As the ground rises to meet her, the star starts to panic. She doesn’t want to die.
Looking over the earth, the frightened star finds her brother. He smiles at her, and she sheds a tear. She’s ready now.
The sun sets, painting the clouds in hues of scarlet and fire. A star now sleeps.
Thanks for reading!
